The Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee met on June 24, 2025, to review the bills left on the table.
The following bills of interest were taken off the table and sent to the Senate for final floor votes:
- LD 48: An Act to Update References to the United States Internal Revenue Code of 1986 Contained in the Maine Revised Statutes
- LD 55: An Act to Amend the Law Governing the Accrual of Earned Paid Leave
- LD 61: An Act to Regulate Employer Surveillance to Protect Workers
- LD 89: Resolve, Regarding Legislative Review of Chapter 201: Employer Reporting and Payments, a Major Substantive Rule of the Maine Public Employees Retirement System
Bills that were not funded off the Special Appropriations Table are expected to be carried over to the Second Regular Session, beginning Jan. 7, 2026.
The Legislative Council also conducted a review of proposed studies for the First Regular and First Special Sessions. The following bills of interest were voted to be funded and finally passed:
- LD 1453: Resolve, to Establish the Innovative Factory-made Housing Working Group
- LD 1770: An Act to Provide Immediate and Long-term Property Tax Relief to Maine Households
The First Special Session is scheduled to adjourn sine die on June 25, 2025.
