This month, NJBMDA Lobbyist Scot Mackey is sharing important updates regarding New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJ DEP) evolving environmental and transportation regulations.

- Protecting Against Climate Threats (NJ PACT): NJ DEP and the Murphy Administration launched Protecting Against Climate Threats (PACT), a regulatory reform effort that modernizes environmental laws. Read the NJ PACT Memo
- Drive Green NJ and Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT): NJ DEP’s Drive Green NJ initiative entails several programs designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles. These include a sales/use tax exemption for zero-emission vehicles, charging grants to offset EV charger purchasing/installation costs, and a statewide EV infrastructure partnership. - Resilient Environments and Landscapes (REAL): NJDEP has proposed modernized land resource protection rules to help coastal communities deal with what it contends are effects of climate change, including sea-level rise, extreme weather, and chronic flooding. Read the REAL Memo
