Therma-Tru, a leader in entry and patio door manufacturing for more than 60 years, served for the fourth consecutive year as presenting sponsor of The Victory Center’s “Over the Edge for Victory,” during which more than 100 participants scaled a Toledo skyscraper to generate a record-breaking $185,000. The money will fund free wellness programs and support services for cancer patients, survivors and their families across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
The annual fundraiser gives participants the choice to rappel down the side of the building or to tackle the VictoryClimb ascent, an uphill climbing challenge along the same façade.

“This year’s event raised more money than ever before, and Therma-Tru’s consistent support has been a driving force in making that possible,” said Kimberly Rosinski, special events manager at The Victory Center. “The generosity of our community ensures we can continue providing care, hope and compassion to patients, survivors and those closest to them.”
Therma-Tru has been the presenting sponsor of “Over the Edge for Victory” since 2021. This year, three of its employees joined the challenge: Amanda Pochatko, who manages social media, rappelled in memory of a former student and to stress the importance of early screenings; Brian Bell, a lab technician at the Innovation Center, honored his late father while showing his four children the power of courage; and Daniel Applegate, a product development engineer, faced his fear of heights in tribute to his grandparents’ cancer journeys.
“It’s so inspiring to see our friends and neighbors come together in such a powerful way,” said Kate Haws, director of brand communications at Therma-Tru. “We’re proud to support an event that makes such a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
Founded in 1996, The Victory Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and educating cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones. The Victory Center provides programs that address physical, emotional and spiritual needs, including oncology massage, wigs for those experiencing hair loss, yoga, counseling, art therapy and more. All services are offered free of charge, and the organization is completely privately funded, making community events like “Over the Edge for Victory” essential to sustaining its mission.
