For the fifth consecutive year, Hammond recognized as one the best places of employment.
Hammond Lumber Company (Hammond) has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for the fifth year in a row. Hammond has also been recognized as a Best Company to Work For in New Hampshire and has been ranked #12 in the state of New Hampshire. These statewide surveys and award programs are designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment.

The 2025 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 143 companies in three size categories: 42 small winners (15-49 U.S. employees), 71 medium winners (50-249 U.S. employees), and 30 large winners (250+ U.S. employees). Hammond is one of the 30 winners in the large employer category with over 1,200 employees across Maine and New Hampshire. Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The first consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which consisted of 75 percent of the total. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process and analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
Hammond Lumber Company will be recognized at the Best Places to Work in ME awards program on October 7, where rankings will be revealed. The Best Places to Work in Maine awards program is a project of the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group, in partnership with BridgeTower Media.
The 2025 Best Companies to Work in New Hampshire list is made up of 27 companies. The 2025 competition attracted applicants from across the state with each completing an extensive employer survey, detailing benefits and workplace practices. Employees from each company also filled out an employee engagement survey. The surveys were administered by The Employee Engagement Group, and the results of all those assessments determined the winning companies.
Hammond was featured in the September issue of Business NH Magazine and will be recognized at the Best Companies to Work For in New Hampshire awards program on September 18 in Manchester, NH.
