ENYLDA Building Futures Scholarship
PURPOSE:
The ENYLDA Scholarship awards $1,500 to support students pursuing a degree or vocational certification in the Lumber and Building Materials industry. This scholarship can be applied toward tuition, enrollment fees, or essential tools for vocational and technical training at an accredited institution. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled in a technical or vocational program or accepted into an industry-related college major.
ELIGIBILITY:
Eligibility Requirements for the ENYLDA Scholarship: To qualify for the $1,500 ENYLDA Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an employee or dependent of an employee working for a member of the Eastern New York Lumber Dealers Association (ENYLDA) or a sponsoring member within the ENYLDA territory.
- Be currently enrolled or accepted into a vocational/technical program or a degree program related to the Lumber and Building Materials industry at an accredited institution.
- Must be currently employed within a construction trade related industry.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 in high school and/or college.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a current employer or teacher/professor.
- Provide the most recent high school or college transcript.
- Submit either: o A 500-word essay OR o A 2-minute video explaining their interest in a construction industry career and what inspired their decision.
EVALUATION PROCESS:
The ENYLDA Scholarship Committee will review all applications. Final selection will be made by the ENYLDA Board of Directors. The scholarship recipient will be named in the fall.
