A Special Meeting of the Membership has been called for February 1, 2024. At this virtual meeting, an official vote to formally adopt the enclosed bylaws will take place. The proposed revisions comply with the New York State Not for Profit Corporation Law, which governs the NRLA. Here you can find the marked up copy of the bylaws (so you can see the changes) and a clean copy of the proposed bylaws. Please review the changes carefully and fill out your ballot for final approval.
These changes include, but are not limited to:
- Section 3.1. Updating the number of membership categories and grandfathering Honorary Members
- Section 3.1 Clarifying that Retired Members may not serve on the Executive Committee.
- Section 3.4 Clarifying that Honorary Members receive the same membership benefits as Retired Members.
- Section 4.2 Clarifying that dealer and associate members may serve on the Board of Directors.
- Section 7.1 Making an Executive Committee Liaison position an ABMA Executive Committee Liaison position.
Please contact NRLA Bylaw Task Force Chair Doug Ford at doug.ford@curtislumber.com, or myself at rferris@nrla.org with any questions you may have.
Thank you,
Rita C. Ferris, President
