Eric Dolloff’s career in the lumber industry is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and a passion for serving customers and colleagues alike. What began as a summer job at Poole Brothers Lumber in Boothbay while attending college evolved into a lifelong career spanning more than three decades. Starting as a yard employee in 1992, Eric quickly developed an appreciation for the industry, laying the foundation for a career defined by leadership and continuous growth.

In 1998, Eric joined Hancock Lumber as logistics manager at the company’s Windham location. His talent for leadership and operations soon led to a promotion as operations manager in Kennebunk. Following Hancock Lumber’s acquisition of Marriner Lumber in 2005, Eric transitioned into an account manager role, where he built strong relationships with customers throughout the Midcoast region. Two years later, he became general manager of the Damariscotta branch, a position he held for 16 years before being promoted in 2024 to regional general manager, overseeing five retail locations. His steady progression reflects not only his expertise but also the trust and respect he has earned throughout the organization.
Eric’s commitment to the lumber industry extends well beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. He has served on the RLDAM Board of Directors for the past 15 years, including serving as president from 2018 to 2020. Passionate about giving back, Eric credits Bill Kelly and Peter Bernier for encouraging him to become involved with the association and values the opportunity to help strengthen the industry for future generations.
Born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, Eric grew up in a large, close-knit family where lobster bakes, camping trips, and family gatherings created lasting memories. Today, family remains at the center of his life. He and his wife, Kelsey, whom he hired as a kitchen designer at Hancock Lumber in 2017, were married in the Dominican Republic surrounded by family and friends. He is also the proud father of two sons, Jayden and Gavin, both of whom have chosen careers in the skilled trades.
Away from work, Eric enjoys traveling to warm destinations, exploring Maine’s mountains by side-by-side, and spending time with family and friends. He credits much of his success to the mentors who shaped his career, including Gordon Bailey, his uncle Pat, and Hancock Lumber leaders Kevin Hancock, John Yazwinski, and Mark Hopkins. Their guidance instilled in him the values of hard work, continuous learning, and leading by example.
Eric’s dedication to his company, his association, and the independent lumber industry has made a lasting impact throughout Maine. His unwavering work ethic, commitment to leadership, and genuine passion for helping others make him a truly deserving recipient of the 2026 RLDAM Lumber Person of the Year Award.
