PPG announced its second year of partnership with ScienceFest (“VedaFest”), the largest open-air science event in Czechia, which recently took place in Prague and was attended by about 14,000 people in one day. The company provided hands-on workshops and quizzes at the event as part of its commitment to inspire young people with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

“At PPG, we are committed to protecting and beautifying the world – that’s why this year we are entering our second year of partnership with ScienceFest to help educate the next generation of leaders in the STEM fields,” said Jan Sipan, PPG sales director, Czechia, Architectural Coatings. “PPG is staffed by passionate chemists and engineers who were drawn to these fields when they were young, and I firmly believe that we will spark the curiosity of even the youngest visitors at ScienceFest.”

As a main partner for the second year, PPG aimed to inspire young minds through interactive experiments and hands-on activities. Visitors had the opportunity to develop “blue” photos using a cyanotype process and create colorful slimes. All the experiments were created in collaboration with Czech firm CF Plus Chemicals and its “Chemistry and Light” kit.

In addition to the experiments, children had the chance to win PPG branded prizes through quizzes on knowledge about colors.

“Thanks to PPG’s invaluable partnership, we are able to offer a dynamic and engaging program that captivates visitors of all ages, from young children to adults,“ said Irena Krumlova, ScienceFest manager. “PPG’s workshop invited the curious to delve into the fascinating world of paint mixing, showcasing its myriad applications and purposes. We deeply appreciate PPG’s collaboration and support.“
