The New York and Long Island Lumber Association (NYLILA) will convene on October 13 for their TopGolf Social Event & Annual Meeting in Holtsville, N.Y., where they are slated to honor two of their members.
The Lumber Person of the Year award is one of the highest honors given by one’s peers in the lumber and building material industry. The Lumber Person of the Year Award criteria include that the individual:
- Has made, or is currently making, contributions to the industry through their state, local, or Northeastern association.
- Is recognized as a reputable member of the lumber and building material industry.
- Has contributed, or is contributing, to their community through one or more civic organizations.
This year’s recipient of the Lumber Person of the Year award is Mike Hubbard of Speonk Lumber.
The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual for their cumulative contributions to the lumber industry. It is a special recognition to a person who has truly “made a difference” in the business and has made a significant and measurable impact on the lumber and building materials community.
This year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award is Margaurette “Muggs” Criscione of Boise Cascade.
