On Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, Massachusetts State Senator Peter Durant, R-6th Worcester District, visited Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association (MRLDA) member Howe Lumber in East Brookfield for a yard tour.

The senator actively engaged in discussions, asking questions and learning about pressing issues facing the LBM industry and Massachusetts employers. MRLDA lobbyist Patrick Huntington highlighted key challenges, including the impact of new state building codes and upcoming regulations mandating the sale of medium- and heavy-duty electric trucks. The tour also covered the challenges of compliance with these new building codes.
