Kodiak Building Partners, a leading building materials distributor, announced the promotions of Jerry Slomba and Susan Fuller to presidents at Keys Lumber and Valley Lumber & Rental, respectively. As the company strengthens its network of operating partners in the lumber industry, these additions to the leadership team will support continued growth.

Slomba brings more than 35 years of experience in the building materials industry to his new role at Keys Lumber. Most recently, he led millwork operations on the west coast of Florida for American Builders Supply (ABS), another operating company within Kodiak’s portfolio. During his 10 years with ABS, Slomba has been instrumental in the company’s growth and success, and he has consistently demonstrated the kind of strategic thinking, team development, and customer focus that aligns with Kodiak’s values.
“Jerry is deeply committed to servant leadership, and I’m confident he will bring the same people-first approach to Keys Lumber,” said Mark Garboski, Executive Vice President, LBM Southeast at Kodiak. “His results at ABS speak for themselves, and we are excited to see him bring the same energy and excellence to Keys Lumber.”

Along with Slomba’s appointment to Keys Lumber, Susan Fuller will assume a new role as president of Valley Lumber & Rental. Fuller has spent nearly a decade at Valley Lumber, gaining extensive experience across all aspects of the business. From operations and sales to customer service and leadership roles, her deep understanding of the company and strong ties to the community uniquely position her to guide Valley Lumber’s continued success.
“Susan’s appointment is a testament to her hard work, long-standing dedication, and natural leadership abilities,” said Kelly Fox, senior vice president, LBM Northwest at Kodiak. “She knows Valley Lumber inside and out, and her vision for the company’s future reflects both respect for its legacy and a focus on smart, strategic growth.”
The appointments of Slomba and Fuller highlight Kodiak’s ongoing commitment to empowering strong leaders within its network of local companies. With their proven track records, both are poised to make a lasting impact in their new roles, helping to advance Kodiak’s mission of building the most respected and operationally excellent distribution platform in the industry. As the lumber market continues to present opportunities for growth, strong leadership across Kodiak’s portfolio of operating companies will allow it to accelerate its expansion.
