Kevin Brockmyre’s career in the lumber industry spans more than three decades, marked by dedication, leadership, and service to both his profession and community. He began his journey in 1990 when John Brill and Donna Nickerson hired him as a Legislative Assistant at the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA). That opportunity launched a distinguished career that has since included key positions with Boston Cedar, National Nail, and Hood Distribution.

Kevin’s contributions to the industry have been widely recognized. In 2003, he received the NYLE Redwood Award for his leadership and commitment to developing the next generation of industry professionals. Four years later, in 2007, he was honored as the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine’s Lumber Person of the Year. His leadership roles have included serving as Associate Director of the RLDAM from 2003 to 2013 and, more recently, as Secretary of the Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association (MRLDA), a position he has held since 2021.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, Kevin grew up in a large family as one of eight children. His upbringing instilled in him a strong sense of family and community—values that continue to shape his life and career. His mother, Patricia Ann, passed away in 1998. After her passing, his father, Phillip Charles, followed a remarkable path into the Catholic priesthood, serving for more than two decades.
Kevin has been married for 37 years and is most proud of his family: three daughters, two sons-in-law, and five beloved grandchildren who bring him immense joy. Outside of work, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren are his two favorite pastimes.
His civic and community involvement has been equally impactful. Kevin has coached youth and AAU basketball, officiated games and served as president of Amesbury Youth Rotary Basketball. He has also lent his talents to the City of Amesbury’s 350th Anniversary Celebration Committee and remains active in his church as a lector. Guided by faith, family, and a deep belief in service, Kevin has built a career and life defined by integrity, leadership, and community spirit. His contributions to the lumber industry and the people around him make him a truly deserving recipient of the 2025 MRLDA Lumber Person of the Year Award.
