The original and most iconic polymer shake on the market, pioneered over four decades ago, has been rebranded QCshake by parent company Derby Building Products. The new brand name, QCshake, replaces the TandoShake brand.
While the name has been changed, QCshake’s trusted performance and style will remain the same for its hand split, rustic cedar 9, roughsawn cedar single & dual, and Cape Cod perfection products. And, to improve speed to market, a new QCshake Dealer Express program will launch in September.

That’s where QCshake Dealer Express comes in. All profiles, all colors, and all accessories are always in stock and will ship to the dealer within 48 hours. This program will simplify the entire process – from order entry to shipping.
Engineered for durability, QCshake is impervious to moisture, resistant to severe weather, and an ideal solution for everything from ground contact to roofline applications. A low maintenance shake with the look of painted cedar shingles, QCshake is available in a wide range of solid and variegated color options to complement a variety of home styles. The product line includes:
- Hand Split Shake – the original shake profile, captures the rustic character of hand-cut cedar with random grooves and a 7-inch exposure.
- Rustic Cedar 9 – a profile that offers a deep grain texture and a 9-inch exposure.
- RoughSawn Cedar Single and Dual – profiles showcasing a long, subtle grain, a 6 ½-inch exposure and evenly aligned shingles. The roughsawn single profile is ideal for dormers and peaks, minimizing waste during installation, while roughsawn dual provides greater coverage for larger walls.
- Cape Cod Perfection – natural cedar texture and straight lines in a 5-inch exposure.
Launching in September, the QCshake Dealer Express program is based in Lexington, KY. This initiative features all five QCshake product lines and color options, making it easy for installers to order the products they need – quickly and efficiently. With QCshake’s Dealer Express program, installers order QCshake products through their local lumberyard. The lumberyard then places an order with a Derby Building Products distributor, which triggers a direct shipment from Derby to the lumberyard within 24 – 48 hours.
The program is a win-win throughout the channel – providing greater access, faster turnaround, and improved job site efficiency. More details on the QCshake Dealer Express program will be available in September.
