TRUFAST, a brand of ALTENLOH, BRINCK & CO. US, INC., has launched the new TRUTALK podcast, where hosts Jason Wigboldy and Nick Eschhofen discuss all things related to the building envelope. The two share expert insights into roofing, walls, building science and the technologies shaping the industry during insightful 20-minute conversations. Video and audio versions of the episodes are available online on the TRUFAST website.
“TRUTALK was created as a way for us to share the years of knowledge and experience the TRUFAST team has acquired through product development, testing, engineering and customer conversations,” explains Mandy White, marketing manager. “This is information we know can benefit our customers and the industry as a whole.”
Wigboldy, vice president of the TRUFAST Walls division, has been with the company for more than 26 years. He brings his lifelong experience in construction to the podcast, from his early years as an installer to hands-on project management with a large commercial contractor. As a senior engineer with 10 years of experience with TRUFAST Roofing, Eschhofen provides perspective on the importance of looking beyond basic assembly to understand the systems, people and technical advancements that make the industry both challenging and exciting.

In the introductory episode, “Why the Building Envelope Matters,” Wigboldy and Eschhofen discuss how building construction has evolved over the years, why moisture management and energy efficiency have become increasingly important, and the fundamental differences between roof and wall assemblies. From air and water barriers to insulation, cladding, and waterproofing, they break down how these individual components work together as a complete building envelope.
Their conversation in Episode 2 looks at how structure, cladding, and critical control layers must work together as a complete system to manage water, air, vapor, thermal performance, wind uplift, and fire resistance. From moisture trapped inside tighter modern buildings to the importance of continuous air barriers and typical types of failures, the episode offers a practical look at how small details can have major consequences for long-term building performance. It also previews future conversations around fasteners, attachment systems, vapor management, and emerging technologies that help building assemblies dry properly while staying protected.
