The Lumber Dealers Association of Connecticut (LDAC) held its annual meeting banquet on October 15 at the Whittemore at the Vyne. During the event, LDAC celebrated their Lumber Person of the Year, Jim Bushka, of H.J. Bushka & Sons Lumber & Millwork who was joined by his vast family and friends. Bushka’s children, Eric, Randy, and Jamie gave a moving introduction and spoke of their family history and challenges.

The evening also included awarding three scholarships to Jocelyn Allen, William Hinkle (Ring’s End), and Chase D’Agostino (H.J. Bushka). Lobbyist Matthew Hallisey spoke on engaging folks and connecting them to their legislative representatives. NRLA President Rita Ferris gave an update on the association happenings and member services.
