NRLA contracted the nation’s premier workplace law firm, Jackson Lewis P.C., to create a customizable employee handbook for the LBM industry. The customizable handbook is a free benefit for NRLA retail and associate members which contains state-specific information for all of your employees from Maine to Maryland. Management should note that employee handbooks have, in recent years, increasingly become the subject of litigation. In such lawsuits, former employees often claim that statements in such manuals created contractual obligations, which have been broken. However, properly drafted, employee manuals can actually reduce the likelihood of costly and time-consuming employee litigation.
NRLA’s customizable handbook is in Microsoft Word format so you can add your company name and policies specific to your company. Areas highlighted in yellow need to be customized. The handbook contains state-specific information, so please look over each page and remove the sections that don’t apply to your state.
