LMC’s Rachel Hoops, B2B & Component Sales Manager, has been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA), after years of successful partnership between the two organizations. In her new role, Hoops will provide a broad market perspective to the components industry and bring a fresh set of eyes to tackle the challenges faced by the industry.
As an advocate for component shops at LMC, Hoops is excited to join fellow board members. She will bring her experience in the lumber and building materials industry, as well as her fresh perspective as a relative newcomer to the wider building industry.
In recent years, the construction industry has seen a significant rise in the utilization of components. This trend has been especially prominent in the LMC network, where lumberyards have increasingly sought partnerships with component manufacturers. Hoops has identified opportunities to educate LMC dealers on the advantages of these building elements, most recently collaborating with the SBCA to promote the use of open web floor trusses.
“My role at LMC has allowed me to successfully implement outside-the-box solutions that have benefited our co-operative,” Hoops said. “I am excited to bring this same fresh perspective to the SBCA and contribute to the growth and success of the components industry.”
Established in 1983, the SBCA is the only international trade association representing manufacturers of structural building components. Its membership also includes truss plate suppliers, original equipment manufacturers and resellers, computer software companies, lumber suppliers, builders, and professional individuals in the fields of engineering, marketing, and management.
