Join us in Albany for NRLA-NY Lobby Day — where decisions get made, and your voice makes a difference.

The 2025 State Budget is still being negotiated. Legislators are debating policies that could help or hurt your business — but they need to hear from the people those decisions impact most: you.

Here’s what we’re fighting for:

  • Stop Frequency of Pay Lawsuits – Businesses are being sued for when they pay—not what they pay. These technical lawsuits have shut down companies over harmless payroll errors.

  • Unemployment Insurance Relief – We support a $7B plan to erase New York’s UI debt, helping lower your payroll tax burden.

  • Delay the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule – Mandates have made diesel trucks nearly impossible to find and electric trucks unaffordable. We’re pushing for a two-year delay.

  • Swipe Fee Reform – It’s time to stop paying swipe fees on sales tax and tips—money that never even touches your business.

  • Fair Retainage Rules – You do the work. You deserve to get paid on time. We’re pushing for commonsense reform.

  • Real Workforce Investment – We support funding increases for trade school instructors, apprenticeship programs, and faster release of job training grants.

  • Unfair Competition Fixes – We’re working to close labor law loopholes that allow some contractors to play by a different set of rules.
