Join us for
NRLA-NY’s Lobby Day at the State Capitol on May 15th!
Start your day with an issue briefing and breakfast in the Capitol (Conference Room 901 LOB ) at 8:30 a.m.,
followed by meetings with legislators commencing at 9:30 a.m. Todd Vandervort,
our seasoned lobbyist, alongside NRLA-NY staff, will handle scheduling to
ensure your voice is heard. Our day will conclude with a legislative debrief over lunch at 12:30 p.m.
We’ll be advocating on key issues including:
- Retail Theft: Support the
Governor’s robust proposal to bolster enforcement, including allocating
$25 million to establish a retail theft team within the New York State
Police.
- Retainage: Support
amendments to create a distinct definition of substantial completion for
material men under this law.
- TREES Act: Oppose this
bill which could disrupt supply chains and burden lumber dealers with
certifying their products’ non-contribution to deforestation.
- Preventing
Underage Labor & Prioritizing Workplace Safety: Support
the Governor’s Child Labor Task Force, recently established in
response to a concerning rise in child labor violations.
- Workforce
Development: Support initiatives promoting workforce development programs and
education.
